In an exciting new development, Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer recently reported that dental professionals are approved to return to practice! We had to close our doors in March due to guidelines from the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario. Up until this moment, we were only authorized to treat patients with emergency or urgent issues. We are excited to return to a profession that we love and we are working on our official re-opening date.

Reopening Preparations

As we prepare to reopen our doors, we ask for your patience as we are working on prioritizing our patients cancelled appointments as we are eager to start reserving new and existing patient appointments. We have been actively sourcing personal protective equipment (PPE) and retrofitting our office to ensure your good health and safety upon your visit back to our office. Like everything else in the world right now, a trip to the dentist/hygienist/orthodontist is going to look a bit different post-quarantine. At Sunrise Centre Dental, we are dedicated to making the transition as smooth as possible for our patients, staff and community. We are committed to your safety and are taking extra precautions where possible.

New “Healthy Start” Program

In addition to preparing for our reopening, our team has been working on continuing education in early growth and development. Specifically, we’ve been taking a closer look at the airway/breathing complications children struggle with. We’re thrilled to apply this new knowledge to a program called Healthy Start.

The Healthy Start program was created to identify the root of the symptoms children experience that are associated with an undiagnosed sleep-related breathing disorder (SRBD). This new system provides children with treatment in a non-invasive and natural manner. It promotes proper oral habits, develops the airway, proper jaw development and in many cases straightens teeth. The goal of this program is to identify these oral conditions as early as possible, so your child can be treated accordingly and reach their optimal oral health potential. For more information on this new program, visit the Healthy Start Facebook Page.

As we plan for an official reopening date, we are still available for emergency care, should you require an appointment please call (705) 789-2369 to speak with one of our team members.
